     -On July 16, Caesar Steiner’s fears became reality when a Draconis Combine flotilla forced its way past the light Lyran aerospace cordon and into Kessel’s orbit. Signals intercepts identified one of the inbound units as the infamous 2nd Sword of Light (The Steel Dragon), one of the Combine’s most prestigious units. While the 11th Lyran Regulars attack the 2nd Sword before they reach the spaceport, the Maniacs have been sent to meet the 12th Sun Zhang Academy Cadre, as they set up a defensive position on the outskirts of Sverdlovsk. Mallory led the assault herself and immediately took Wertmüller hill just outside the city. From there she was able to draw the fire from several mechs while the rest of her command lance took out the Hunchback, Spider, Jenner, and the Vulcan in quick succession. Sensing defeat the Mechs of the 12th retreated into the city while Anthony Fairhorn, in his Dervish DV-6M covered their retreat with a punishing barrage of missiles. The Maniacs pursued the 12th into the capitol and were able to Take out another 2 mechs (Centurion & Griffin) before they pulled back and regrouped allowing just Fairhorn to escape and join up with the main force of the 12th back at their HQ. Before the 12th Sun Zhang Academy Cadre could mount a counterattack the Maniacs were given new orders. They were needed to reinforce the 11th Lyran Regulars, at the spaceport who are being overwhelmed by the  2nd Sword of Light.

     Once the Maniacs arrived at the spaceport Mallory set up a defensive position near the supply depot and mech repair facility, while they waited for the attack of the 2nd Sword. Their was only time to repair 2 Mechs (Panther & Whitworth) but not enough to repair their Vindicator so Tweek (in his Wolfhound) took his place in the command lance as the main force of the 2nd Sword attacked. With them was Anthony Fairhorn, in his Dervish looking for revenge after the 12th Sun Zhang's humiliating defeat, he took up a rear position and rained down missles on the buildings in an attempt to destroy the weapons depot. Ultimatly he failed as did the rest of the sword of Light. First Tweek showed his worth with two expertly placed Medium laser shots to the head of the Hunchback destroying the cockpit. Shortly later the James in his Whitworth took out the Grand Dragon with a 3 direct hits to his Gyro, then crippled the Jenner before being chased from his position by the Lancelot. Mallory in her Warhammer and Tweek took out the Griffin and eventually the Lancelot while moving back into the spaceport. Meanwhile Tyler in his Panther occupied the 2nd Sword's Panther until he found his opening and eventually scored a direct hit on her Ammo bin, taking out the 2nd swords Panther and it's pilot. Tyler then tried to make a run at Fairhorn's Dervish but could not keep up with the faster mech, and yet again Anthony managed to escape as the only survivor after 2 assaults on the Maniacs.

      After their part in routing the 2nd sword of light, the Maniacs gave chase to the rest of the 2nd sword battalion, only to be cut off by the 5th Sun Zhang academy at the Schuyler river Bridge. Two Lances of the 5th Sun Zhang tried to stop the Maniacs at the bridge in order to give the Steel dragon time to regroup. In their initial push it looked as if the Maniacs would be out classed this time until a missile from a SRM volley found it's way into the Dragons ammo bin, followed by Mallory taking out the Hunchback with a hit to it Gyro. Undaunted by these early losses the 5th managed to surround Sunny's Wolfhound and blast off both arms, and causing damage to it's engine and Gyro. Unable to right his mech Sunny ejected. At the same time the 5th lost a 3rd mech (the Enforcer) and the Javlin has caused crippling damage to the Griffin. Now out gunned and out manned the 5th decided to retreat instead of loosing more mechs. With this Mallory and the rest of her chase fore continued to hunt down the 2nd Sword.

     The 12th Sun Zhang Academy is sent on a mission to extract a the well known scientist (Allison Ryan), who sent word she wanted to defect to the Combine. The Lyrans were gonig to Destroy their Research facility (Lab Of Sheltered Cryogenics), but before they can Dr. Ryan Got word out on when the best time to extract her and her research. With this info on August 8th 3039 the 12th Sun Zhang Academy enters battle with the Maniacs who have set up an Ambush with the info the attack they recived from the Lyrans.
